Robson Print history
ROBSON PRINT LTD was recently acquired by three partners in February 2009, all of whom have been in the printing trade the whole of their working lives, amassing some 60 years of print experience. The appeal of a commercial printer in the heart of Tynedale, with an already established client base, originally under its founder Peter Robson, back in the 1970s, together with the winning of new business, has proved to be a sound investment.
Six months in and already plans are ahead of schedule, delivery of one of the first Canon 6000VP digital presses in the UK has been taken. The company has updated its studio, overhauled the CTP system and Press room with its two B3 Presses. Recruitment is already underway for two new members of staff in the finishing and digital print departments, and plans for two apprentices in 2009 are already being formed.
The customer relationships in a business community such as Tynedale has given the new directors the confidence to speed their plans for growth, such is the enthusiasm and loyalty shown, offers of help and assistance have come from all business quarters.
As well as local contracts, Robson Print has secured diverse national and international business such as Home Brew labeling for Muntons PLC and educational booklets for USA-based Rainbows.
Delivering a worthy product to clients and building business relationships is a rewarding process and something which is not lost on the new directors who have all worked in previous larger print organisations, where price is king and loyalty is hard to come by. The positive attitude of Robson Print and its clients serve to show that at a time when businesses are suffering across the country, Tynedale’s business community is a strong and vibrant one - Robson Print are a case in point.
